About The Programme

The design of this programme aims at enabling students to understand the conceptualization, planning and effective implementation and evaluation of agricultural- and development-related projects. This MSc. Agricultural Project Management is not an ordinary agribusiness management programme; broadly, it provides an opportunity to develop deeper skills and knowledge in managing and evaluating projects. The MSc programme is for a duration of one academic years (12 months) organize during sandwich academic year session. The MSc Agricultural Project Management is offered by the Department of Agricultural and Food Economics under the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Sciences.

Graduates of the MSc. Agricultural Project Management programme may find employment as: 

  1. Agricultural Project Development Officers
  2. Agricultural Project Managers
  3. Agricultural Research Officers
  4. Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officers
  5. project grant writing experts
  6. Business owners to help them make accurate and timely decisions

Entry Requirements

TO BE ADMITTED INTO A PROGRAMME LEADING TO THE AWARD OF A GRADUATE DIPLOMA OR THE MASTER'S DEGREE (MSC. AND M.PHIL), A CANDIDATE MUST:

  • Have obtained a good first degree (at least Second Class Lower) in an appropriate field of study from a recognised University. Applicants with a first degree below Second-class Lower division may be admitted upon the recommendation of the Department. Applicants with masters non-research may be admitted to a 12-month top-up programme in the same or related field leading to the award of an MPhil.
  • Submit an official transcript of your academic record.
  • Submit two referee reports from somebody familiar with the applicant’s academic work.
  • In addition, those seeking a research-related degree must attach a 3- 5 page research proposal of their intended area of research.
  • Satisfy any additional requirements prescribed by the Faculties/Schools. These may include relevant work experience, a written entrance examination and an interview.
  • Applicants must note that all MSc non-research programmes are available through Sandwich.
