General Assembly Of The Student’s Representative Council Of UDS Nyankpala Campus Inducts New Members

The General Assembly the highest decision-making body among students, on Saturday, 28th January, 2023 elected and inducted members to constitute a new house. The election and induction were conducted by the Speaker of the General Assembly for the 2021/2022 academic year, Mr. Speaker Hamdan Wumpeka Amadu and the Electoral Commissioner, Mr. Abdallah Mujahid Naporow.

Mr. Yakubu Ibrahim, a student of the faculty of Communication and Media Studies was elected as the Speaker with Mr. Tijani Amadu of the School of Engineering, assuming the position of  Deputy General Assembly Speaker. Miss Ramat Asanteewaa a student of the Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment was inducted into office as the clerk of the General Assembly. 

After handing over the Speakership mantle, Mr. Hamdan Wumpeka Amadu advised the Speaker and his Deputy to be principled and disciplined for “If you are not disciplined, your house can never be in order.” 

The Central SRC President, Mr. Musah Abdul Mugis intimated that a deal had been closed by the SRC in collaboration with the Management of the University, regarding arrangements with the Ayalolo Transport System to convey students from strategic locations in town, to and from campus at a subsidized cost. The SRC President added that the student leadership had been able to lobby the University Governing Council to agree to allow continuing students who are able to pay more than 50 percent of their fees to register their courses.
