In an effort towards enhancing facilities at the University for Development Studies, a major rehabilitation project is nearing completion at the School of Medicine. This was announced during a recent project reports meeting attended by esteemed stakeholders including the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Seidu Al-Hassan.
The meeting, which took place at the project site, was attended by key figures such as representatives from FT Global Investment, the construction firm responsible for the project, and Access Bank, the primary financier. The purpose of the gathering was to assess the progress of the rehabilitation initiative, which holds considerable importance for the university community.
Accompanied by Ing. Kwame Debrah, Director of Works and Physical Department were; Dr. Hardy Shaibu Mohammed, Director of Finance, and Prof. Stephen Tabiri, Dean of the Medical School. The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Seidu Al-Hassan emphasized the project's critical role in alleviating pressures on existing facilities and enhancing the overall student experience. "The completion of this project holds great importance for us, and we are dedicated to seeing it through," declared Vice-Chancellor Prof. Seidu Al-Hassan during the meeting. He underscored the university's commitment to the initiative thus, making it imperative for him to be at the meeting and see things for himself.
Dr. Albert Awuah Jnr., the project consultant presiding over the meeting on the project's progress, expressed unwavering confidence that the rehabilitation would meet its scheduled completion by the end of the year, in line with contractual obligations. Access Bank, serving as the primary financier, was represented at the meeting and the Bank reiterated their steadfast support and commitment to ensure that the project is completed on schedule.
The rehabilitation project promises to elevate the School of Medicine's facilities, fostering a conducive environment for learning and research, and advancing pro-poor scholarship, which is fundamental to the university's mission.
