The Vice-Chancellor of the University for Development Studies (UDS), Prof. Gabriel Ayum Teye, has been re-appointed to serve on the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) Council for a second term over a period of three years.
The Council is the governing body of the ACU’s activities and determining its future strategic direction. It is made up of a maximum of 23 members, who are elected by their peers within the ACU membership network.
As a Council Member, Prof. Teye also acts as a trustee alongside 22 of his colleague Vice-Chancellors of ACU member Universities from across the commonwealth. Other members of the Council are, the Vice-Chancellors of King’s College London, UK, Swansea University, UK, Durham University, UK, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka, Cardiff University, UK, Dalhousie University, Canada and National Law University, Delhi, India, among others.
The endorsement of Prof. Teye by his colleagues also puts UDS on a high pedestal as an institution of repute and provides an enabling environment for collaborations internationally.
