Three students of the Ubniversity for Development Studies, UDS, have qualified to represent Ghana at the Federation Internationale Du Sport Universitaire (FISU) World University Games scheduled to be held in China from Friday, July 28 to Tuesday, August 8, 2023.
The UDS students, namely Barnabas Aggeh, Aflama Wallace and Emmanuel Dukpa, students did not only qualify for the forthcoming World University Games, but they have also won some medals for their efforts in the sporting events they compete in.
The World University Games are multi-sport events sanctioned by the International University Sports Federation (FISU).
The Summer World University Games, which are set to be held from 28 July to 8 August 2023 in Chengdu, Sichuan, China, released the competition schedule for the event. The Chengdu Games were unfortunately postponed already twice due to Covid-19, and is keeping its name although being held in 2023. 18 sports will make up the competition programme for the Chengdu Games.
The UDS students are at the competition under the guidance of the Director of Sports, Mr. Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko.
