Dr. Mahamuda Abu is a Ghanaian from the Upper Western part of Ghana – West Africa. He has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Earth Science degree from the University for Development Studies in 2008 and then a Master of Philosophy (M. Phil) in Geology from the Department of Earth Science, University of Ghana where he majored in Sedimentology. He obtained a Ph.D. in Petroleum Geoscience from the Pan African University – Institute of Life and Earth Science including Health and Agriculture. He was a faculty member in the Department of Earth Science at the Navrongo Campus of the University for Development Studies from September 2016 to April 2021. He is now with the Department of Geological Engineering at the Nyankpala Campus of the University for Development Studies, Tamale – Ghana. He is currently a lecturer with over 35 publications including peer-reviewed (over 25) and abstracts (over 10) in books of abstracts of conference proceedings.
His research interest is in Sedimentology, Petroleum Geoscience, Applied Geochemistry, and Applied Geology with the application of Geostatistics, Multivariate Statistics, and Artificial intelligence/Machine learning in the characterization of geo-resources.
