Dr. Fusta Azupogo is a Lecturer in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, where he has been a faculty member since 2015. He is a trained nutritionist and holds a First-Class Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Community Nutrition from the University for Development Studies, Tamale-Ghana. He also holds a Master of Science (MSc) Degree in Nutrition and Health, (specializing in Epidemiology and Public Health) from Wageningen University and Research (WUR), The Netherlands, and a PhD in Human Nutrition from WUR. His expertise includes dietary assessment, nutritional status assessment, nutrition epidemiology, and formulation and evaluation of food-based dietary recommendations. He has experience with statistical data analysis with SAS, SPSS, and STATA. Dr Azupogo has taught courses including Principles of Nutrition, Community Nutrition, Nutrition in Ghana, Late Childhood Adolescence, Food Microbiology, and Food and Nutrition Security. His research interests include dietary assessment, nutritional status assessment, nutrition epidemiology and the formulation and evaluation of food-based dietary recommendations for vulnerable population groups, particularly children, adolescents, and women. He has peer-reviewed and published several scientific articles in high impact international journals. Dr Azupogo is a member of the Nutrition Disparity Network of Wageningen University and Research and the Ghana multi-task technical team (MTTT) working on healthy food-based dietary recommendations for the Ghanaian population.
