Background

Joseph Amikuzuno (PhD) is Associate Professor of Agricultural Economics, formerly with the Department of Climate Change and Food Security of the University for Development Studies (UDS), Tamale, Ghana. Since August 2020, Prof Amikuzuno has been on secondment from the UDS to the St. John Bosco College of Education, Navrongo, Ghana as Principal of the College. Prof. Amikuzuno has over 20 years of experience in research, teaching and community development that contributes to promoting equitable and socioeconomic transformation in Ghana through teaching, research and community service at the higher education level. He achieves this by applying problem-based, demand-driven and participatory teaching and learning tools in my administrative, teaching and research engagements. His current research interest encompasses climate change impact analysis, mitigation measures and socioeconomic scenarios for smallholder farmers and policy makers in West Africa.

Prof. Amikuzuno received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Technology (Agricultural Economics and Extension Option) from the UDS in 1998; his Master of Philosophy degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ghana in 2001; and his PhD in International Agriculture (Agricultural Policy Option) from the Georg-August Universitaet Goettingen, Germany in 2009. He is a fellow of the Katholischer Akademischer Auslaender-Dienst (KAAD), a scholarship organisation of the Catholic Church in Germany.
