Background

Dr. Mohammed Sanka is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Sustainable Development Studies, UDS, where he teaches Law and Development, Human Rights Law, Business Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Migration and Refugee Regimes, etc. He is currently the Acting Head of the Department of Peace and Security Studies. Dr. Sanka believes in hands-on, all-inclusive and interactive approaches to imparting knowledge to his students. Prior to joining the University for Development Studies, Dr. Sanka was a Teaching Assistant of the Department of Constitutional and International Law, Belgorod State University, where he taught Public International Law, Law of Treaties, and Diplomatic Law. He is particularly interested in the academic discourse that seeks to assess how law can be applied to advance socio-economic progress in developing countries, especially Ghana.
His current research interests focus on Peace Studies, Public International Law, Third World Approaches to International Law, International Human Rights Law, Minority Rights, Self-Determination and International Law, Indigenous Peoples Rights, and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
