Background
Osman Tahidu Damba (PhD) is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural & Food Economics with over 15 years of industry experience at both local and international development space. He holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Ataturk University, Turkey since 2017, an MPhil in Agribusiness, Legon and a BSc. degree in Agricultural Technology from the University for Development Studies (UDS), Tamale, Ghana. Dr. Damba’s focus is on agricultural policies, climate and food systems, and agribusiness. Prior to joining the UDS in 2013, Dr Damba worked with the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC), Pan African Organization for Sustainable Development (POSDEV) in charge of evaluations, Agribusiness Cluster Advisor with Farmers Organization Network in Ghana (FONG) and the Association of Church Development Projects (ACDEP). He currently teaches Agricultural Finance and Farm Management, and Postharvest Value Chains at the postgraduate level. He also teaches Agro Enterprise Development, Agricultural Administration and Policy, Environmental and Social Impacts of Climate Change as well as Food and Nutrition Policy at the undergraduate level. Dr. Osman Tahidu Damba has vast experience and expertise in grantsmanship and currently provides leadership in technology identification, prioritization and bundling with multilateral projects.
