Precious Kwaku Blege is a lecturer in the Department of Mechanisation and Irrigation Technology. He has served as departmental coordinator of the university’s flagship Third Trimester Field Practical Program (TTFPP). He has 4 years professional experience in his field of studies and with the University for Development Studies. He has provided instruction in introductory Physics, Engineering Surveying, Basic Statistics and Mathematics at the undergraduate level. In addition to the above, he undertakes research in the areas of Soil and Water Conservation and Management, Integrated Soil Fertility Management (ISFM), Irrigation and Drainage control and Climate change mitigation. Mr. Blege has conducted extensive hydrological studies across northern Ghana. His current research focuses on validation of a water balance model in some selected catchments in the Guinea Savannah ecological zone using a known model. In addition, he also has interest in soil physics, Integrated Soil fertility management in leguminous crop production such as soy and geospatial modelling of hydrological properties at the farm scale for use as a decision support tool. Mr. Blege has been involved in international collaborative research and outreach with RSSP, AGRA, Sabab Lou USAID, UNU-INRA, WASH etc.
