Yazeed Abdul Mumin (PhD) is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural and Food Economics, University for Development Studies. He holds PhD from the University of Kiel, Germany. He has over 12 years experience in teaching, research and community development service. His research focuses on the application of applied econometric methods to understand ways by which technology adoption, development infrastructure, and household food security and nutrition can be improved. He has consulted for the Media Foundation for West Africa, ISODEC, ISSER-AGRA, and the National Opinion Research Centre (NORC) at the University of Chicago. His current research focus has been to understand the role of social networks, global value chains, and information and communication technologies in enhancing development and household outcomes such as, financial inclusion, income inequality, nutrition and women economic empowerment. He has published in some of the internationally reputed journals such as the Journal of Agricultural Economics; European Review of Agricultural Economics; Applied Economic Perspectives and Policy and Food Policy among others. His research on “Social networks, adoption of improved variety and household welfare: evidence from Ghana” won the 2022 Award for the European Review of Agricultural Economics Outstanding Journal Paper (https://eaae.org/News.aspx?News=13). Yazeed Abdul Mumin has also won research grants from the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), International Centre for Evaluation and Development (ICED), and German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS). He is currently the Deputy Director of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance of the University for Development Studies.
